BB, CC, DD…What is all this in Skin Care?
Recently we have all been seeing ads and labels for skin care products with “codes” like BB, or CC, or DD. What are these “new” labels, and what do they mean to you when you go to purchase skin care? Most of the time we are seeing these codes on foundations. These codes are meant to reflect that this product “does it all”. Therefore they can save you money. You won’t have to purchase as many products to care for and protect your skin. Right? Maybe not. You decide.
BB creams are essentially skin brightening, primer, foundation, moisturizer, SPF and anti-aging for your skin
CC creams are “color control” and are the next generation of the BB cream with the key differentiating factor being it will correct the color of your complexion along with the other defined benefits of the BB cream for your skin care
DD creams are supposed to be the “powerhouse” creams for dry, rough and cracked skin on the face or body. They generally contain active (working) ingredients such as Urea, Vitamin E, B3 and Aloe Vera. These skin creams also claim to moisturize, diminish brown spots, stretch marks, increase hydration, encourage skin regeneration, and prevent dry and/or rough skin.
Are you as confused as I am when you read this? I personally don’t believe there is ANY one cream can do all the things these skin care creams claim. It certainly would be nice to buy and use one skin care cream that does it all! But as of today’s technology, it just doesn’t exist yet. I could certainly see this happening in the future. All well formulated and researched skin care companies that are classified cosmoceutical or pharmaceutical work daily to improve their products so they really do what they say they will do. These companies are not found over the counter in drug stores or department stores. That is why at Skin Care by Robyn I use Rhonda Allison to provide the best skin care available at this time. Before you spend your money on these new creams, read the ingredient list and check to see that the product you are purchasing has the proper ingredients in it to do what that product advertises it will do!
